Golden Pollen Drift

A matched diptych buzzing with interference gold, sky blue, and deep sapphire — two small square canvases meant to hang side by side. The surfaces read like an aerial view of some impossible landscape: gold pollen scattered across pale blue fields, dark navy punctuation marks clustered in organic rivulets, soft violet and copper hazing through wherever the layers thin. Together, the pair creates a continuous visual conversation, each panel echoing the other's rhythms while holding its own distinct balance of color weight. These are painted entirely with Golden Interference acrylics, and the shift is dramatic. Head-on, the gold dominates — warm, almost antiqued, like sun-bleached metal. Move to the side and the interference blue and violet bloom forward, turning those same gold fields into cool iridescent pools. The macro shots reveal it best: each square inch holds three or four distinct color states depending on your angle, creating surfaces that genuinely change character as you walk past them. Photos can only show one moment of what these pieces actually do. The technique here is pure rapid-form layering — interference gold laid down as a saturated base, then blue, green, copper, and violet interference coats applied in fast overlapping gestures. The paint was pushed, splattered, and allowed to pool and resist across the canvas weave. You can see where the heavy-body texture catches the canvas tooth, creating that stippled, almost geological grain in the close-up shots. The edges wrap with paint, fully finished — no framing needed.
